Possessing the innate ability to move seamlessly between architecture and interior design, Johnna Barrett has been creating truly spectacular environments for more than 27 years. One of Catalyst Magazine’s Top Five Entrepreneurs in Atlanta, she has planned and designed more than 500 successful projects in 19 states, and internationally through her office in the Middle East.

Johnna believes that design can accomplish something much greater than meeting the basic human need for shelter -- she believes it can awaken the human spirit. "The majority of people's lives are spent inside a built environment of some sort," she says. "By paying attention to what that environment is we can either positively or negatively impact the person who inhabits it."

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Johnna has designed many different types of projects, including higher education facilities, spa and wellness centers, entertainment venues, nightclubs, retail and corporate interiors.  She  specializes in sustainable residential architecture and interior design, both multi-family and single family.  Her lifelong love of forms and shapes has led to a diverse portfolio of project types that affect people through purposefully creating unique and different environments.

Some of Johnna's achievements include "Tranquility," the relaxation room in the world's largest military burn unit, based in San Antonio, Texas; Spring Creek, an award winning residence that received national recognition; SUSTAIN house, the first series of green, sustainable homes designed to earn LEED platinum certification; and Adanado, an innovative net zero energy home in southern Colorado.  Her interiors can be seen throughout Atlanta in both residential and commercial settings, and in numerous condominiums including Sovereign Condominium in Buckhead, the Ritz Carlton Residences, Mandarin Oriental, Paramount, Buckhead Grand, The Atlantic, 1010 Midtown, Luxe, The Brookwood, 1065 Midtown residences at Loews Hotel, and currently under construction The Sutton, Buckhead

Johnna has received extensive design awards, including four national Dream Home Awards for her residential work, and a Green Innovator Award for her work creating SUSTAIN house. She is NCARB certified and holds architecture licenses in numerous states around the country including Georgia, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Maryland.  When she's not working or traveling she can usually be found wherever there's fresh snow.  An avid cross country skier Johnna enjoys exploring Nordic ski destinations throughout the western U.S.
